This month we are Rounding Up at the register for Greenwoods Counseling & Referrals! May is Mental Health Awareness Month and each year millions of Americans face the reality of living with a mental illness. With significant changes to our daily lives due to COVID-19, it is now more important than ever to take care of our mental health and help break the stigma. Together we can bring meaningful change to the lives in our local community.
The mission of Greenwoods Counseling & Referrals is to ensure swift, affordable access to quality mental healthcare, regardless of ability to pay, for individuals and families living and working in Litchfield County. Greenwoods provides referrals for a wide range of problems. They have practitioners who specialize in depression, anxiety, family and relationship problems, trauma, bereavement, children’s behavioral problems, parenting, substance use/abuse and many other areas. Greenwoods also partners with local public schools to connect students to services that help to improve mental and emotional wellbeing.
The hope of New Morning Market is that all people will nurture themselves, their families and their communities in a healthy and sustainable way that contributes to the wellness of all who share the Earth. While part of that is definitely the foods we put into our bodies, it is also about taking care of our whole selves. We don’t make good decisions about our bodies if we don’t also take care of our mental wellness. This is why we want to bring attention to Mental Health Awareness Month.
Please join us in raising this awareness and funding through the Round Up for a Cause effort. Every time you check out at the register, you have the opportunity to make an impact and a difference in a person’s life by rounding up your change.
