Let’s be honest, prioritizing self-care is hard work. (Let alone doing it in the middle of a global pandemic!) Many of us are balancing stressors like never before and we all know the list is endless. Priorities have shifted and our mental and physical well-being have taken a back seat.

However, we must remember in order to take care of others, we must take care of ourselves. Stress build-up can weaken and run havoc on the immune system. And let’s be real – we know we aren’t going to eliminate stress completely. However, we can manage it and help reduce its effects. If you are like most, it’s a daily effort, but there are some simple ways to bring yourself back into focus slowly.

Establish a self-care routine. Yes, put yourself first for a few moments each day. Think about what makes you happy. Maybe it’s a quiet cup of coffee, browsing the local market, yoga in the morning, meditation in the evening, a good book.  Build the things that feed your soul into your daily routine.  

Give it a boost. When our bodies, minds and spirits experience stress, our immune system doesn’t function as well.  Nourishing your body by incorporating herbs and supplements into your daily routine is an important component of self-care.
